Glock

Depends on what you'd like to do with it, I suppose.

I prefer full-size myself, but if I were looking for compact, I'd go all the way to the 26.

I went with the 34 and have been happy with that for many, many years. Feels right in my hand, and I enjoy punching holes in paper with it.

Also CC it.

I think a 34 is my next one, I'm just waiting for my GSSF coupon. Maybe even a MOS version so I can game with it.

I was a major Glock guy from the early 90s through the late 00s when I switched camps to the M&P after a string of reliability problems with my 36. I'm back now, though - the 43 I decided to try last year works better for me with just a sight change than my modified Shields, and my new 41 is blowing me away.

I do want a 19, too but it's down the list. And I need to restrain myself from picking up a 39, the GAP has always interested me as a SD round. I do think I'm going to pass on a .40 this time around, though - my old 23 was great, but 9mm loadings are much improved now.

No love for wheelguns huh?

Ruger LCR in .357 and/or a Kimber Ultra Carry II in .45 for me, but I have to carry a Glock 21 all day anyway.

Get one of each flavor depending on clothing needs for the day and you're set. Best option.

I guess the real question is what do you want it for? Target shooting/competition? Personal and/or home defense? Armed security guard? Defense for bear/gorilla/alligator attacks?

Perfect answer. What do you want it for?

That being said, for a host of reasons I like the Springfield XD better anyway. I recently bought a S&W M&P Shield 40 and a friend got the XD. I like his gun better than mine all the way around.

I love wheel guns. You don't leave brass at the scene.

I like them too. And I think Ruger makes outstanding revolvers. Not a huge fan of their semis, but their revolvers are top notch. And Dav, as a long-time investigator, I can tell you that you're absolutely correct about that! (You sick sonofa...) ;):D

Revolvers don't leave brass, but they do leave a lot more residue on the hands.

Bit of a training issue though if someone has never learnt (see what I did there?) to shoot one properly. They can be hell on the fingertips. Kids these days...

Although the Pythons out of the box had that nice, crisp trigger. I got close on my S&W, but it took some smithing.

My 629 Classic's previous owner was either a gunsmith or had a gunsmith who never heard of liability. The trigger is *very* light and breaks SA like a glass toothpick. Second best trigger on anything I own (Savage Model 11 has it edged out).

So, from the responses, I'm thinking the 19 would make a good CC unit.
For those who have first hand knowledge how would a 19 compare to a Sig 220?
I know they are diff calibers but as far as weight, slim profile, reliability, etc.
Just looking for a 9mm alternative to my 220.
