Gnomeratron VTF - a nasty muff with blend: prototype review

Sorry for the delay. I've found a great, strong clear coat, but its application is a bit tricky. I think it's very picky about temperature, especially over the labels, so I'm moving my clearing to a different area where it's much cooler. Gotta get it all clean and dust-free first, though.

Anyways, here's a guitar clip of the prototype (same used for Jrmy's bass clip) done by a friend from ILF:

Hate to bump this before I have something awesome to show.

I need to request that nobody else send me down payments or payments for a bit. I'm having an issue with paypal, and their customer support is atrocious-- so I basically can't order parts for now, and that's what the current delay is. Blah. I don't want to hold anyone else's money without knowing when this will be sorted.

Thanks for your patience and support. The first stages of real production start tomorrow with a batch of drilling and finishing. There will be photos.

I've also upgraded the footswitch from the standard big blue one. The new one is more rugged and requires less force to push down-- for you tabletop guys.

If you'd like a copy of the instruction manual, please email me at [email protected]

Shush. : p

Paypal basically decided they needed more info to confirm my identity, and limited my account. I can receive money, but I can't use it. I've sent them what they want, but they're being SUPER slow. Called them and they basically told me to wait...

They blame financial regulations, but they're not even a bank. I don't get how that's legal. >.>

Apparently they do that a bit, but it's usually cleared up pretty fast. This time... not so much. And they asked for ridiculous things like a scan of my ID, social security card, and a utility bill. Thought it was a scam at first.

Alas, it's going to be a coffee-filled night of drilling. (that sounds dirty)

Yeah, same thing happened to me with Paypal, I needed to upgrade to a 'Premier' account once I'd received over a certain threshold. This took a couple of weeks waiting around for something to happen until I filed a complaint and threatened to close my account and use an alternative, then suddenly it was resolved the next day! :D

Blarg. I'm hoping it's settled by tomorrow. There's other people waiting for different pedals too...

Anyways, on the subject of the pedals.

An excerpt from the instruction manual that -may- help anyone confused on how the diode switches function:

Switches:

Diode 1 – Selects or removes diodes for the first clipping stage. Left or right selects
between two sets of diodes (type chosen by owner), and in the middle position diodes are disengaged. With diodes engaged, the signal will be more distorted, but have less output.
Diode 2 – Same as Diode 1, but for the second clipping stage. Leaving the diodes out for
the first stage will cause the second stage to clip more. This creates a smooth, bass-heavy fuzz.

Hey Internet!

Those still need their faces drilled (lol), but the holes on the sides are drilled-- for those and every enclosure I have.

Thank God for coffee.

I'd be posting more than 2, but my sanding belt broke... gotta go buy a new one.

The sanding is a nice touch, they really look great! so did you get your paypal problem taken care of or are they still yanking your chain?

Okay, perhaps it's a stupid question, but are we picking out the graphics we want from those 7 designs you posted? I was under the impression you were going to go with the one that got the most nods. You really are going above and beyond, very cool.

I am really looking forward to rocking out with my Gnome!!

Paypal still hasn't responded since I called. They basically just keep telling me to wait it out...

There are 8 different graphic choices-- LED colors will match them.

I really want to make these pedals something special and unique, so I'm doing whatever I can to make them special (within reason).

Plus, you guys have been really patient and awesome, so you deserve it. :bassist:
