I'm very happy my choice of version 8 - on the right :)

Hey Internet!

Those still need their faces drilled (lol), but the holes on the sides are drilled-- for those and every enclosure I have.

Thank God for coffee.

I'd be posting more than 2, but my sanding belt broke... gotta go buy a new one.

And Purple LEDs sound great to me!

Just wanted to check something here, hopefully I'm not being an ass, but isn't it 10 sets of diodes?

:hiding:

Haha... good call.

I've basically just been lumping them together. Realistically, I was only going to use NOS Ges. They're so similar it really doesn't matter, and Ge diodes will likely vary from run to run depending on availability. I always make sure to match them, though.

So far, nobody has actually specified to me which Ges they wanted, so I figured nobody really cared.

I just want all of the options, and if it's an extra $7 dollars instead of the $5 I'll cope - you get the idea :D:ninja:

Honestly, save your money. There just isn't a real difference, and I was really only putting it out there because I had both. You can detect a bit of difference A/Bing it, but if you were to wait, say, a minute between trying them, you'd likely not notice the difference.

I'm not saying you can't pay for more diode types, though, but when you get that technical, different colors/types of LEDs will sound different, and there's a billion types of Schottky and Silicon that'll be slightly different.

Apparently MOSFETs make cool clipping diodes, though. I haven't tried them. They're used in some boutique overdrives.

At risk of hijacking the thread :rollno: but then that's not likely really is it?

Can my fellow Gnomes ofer up an opinion?

I'm looking at getting a new Bass atm, thinking it will probaby be a G&L L2000 Tribute, but...

I also have bad GAS for an [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] which is three times the price :help:

You'd prolly get better results in the basses section.:bassist:

(I'd find the G&L used and spend the money I saved on pedals)

Plus, the G&L will go passive-- just in case you run into a situation (with a fuzz, most likely) where active signals don't play nice. : D

Damned you, you thread-jacking Squier!!!! :o
But seriously, what bass or basses do you currently own? I think that would help us to give you our opinions.

Why don't you tell us what you own currently and what style of music you play in a totally new and separate thread? ;) Now, back to Gnome-speak!

Really though, you have to ask yourself what the bass that's 3 times as much does that the other one doesn't.......
