Godin bass 5 string.

I want to buy a 5-string bass (my first).
I have godin a4 fretless bass And it's cool and terrific bass, godin Great.
My budget 500-900 $, I am debating between 3 godin :
1 Godin Shifter Classic 5-String Bass
2 godin Shifter bass 5-String Bass
3 godin Freeway Basses 5-String Bass.
Has anyone tried the 5-string version of these models-
Tips and suggestions Are gladly accepted

Where in the world are you eldad? I'm actually selling a Shifter Classic 5 in eastern Ma. Creme Brulee finish, rosewood fingerboard and in mint condition. Godin hard case. Not sure if I'm comfortable shipping it though. I have a friend with more time on his hands than I do trying to sell it for me locally.

By the way, you'll likely attract more eyeballs by asking in this area of the forum.

Ha! Yeah, Boston is a bit of a drive from Israel. I agree with you that Godin makes some fine instruments for reasonable prices. The A4 (and A5) are very nice and so are the Shifter/Shifter Classic series. Sorry that I really can't recommend any particular dealers, especially on that side of the big old spinning ball we all share. Best of luck with the search.

Godins are exceptional, highly underrated basses. I had a Shifter Classic and loved it (and should have kept it!), but the Shifters and Freeways I've played are also incredibly nice. The QC on them also seems to be really good - if it was me, I wouldn't hesitate to buy one sight unseen.

Check out the Classifieds on here, and the usual suspects like ebay. Hopefully you can track something down. Even with shipping costs and the like, I would think a used one of any of those three would be well within your budget.

Oh, if it was me and I could buy any of those three, I'd probably take the Shifter. Lots of tonal options with those three pickups, plus it looks cool as can be!
