Sure, they're made in Japan, but they're HAND made in Japan: no computer cutting and routing.

What difference does it make whether they use CNC or not?

Only the difference between assembly line production and hand made instruments. Nothing wrong with CNC, but I was only pointing out the difference between Godlyke and a lot of other mid-price basses.

The Godlyke bass was designed by a lucky reader of the late, great Bassist magazine in the UK - they, along with SGC (as Bass Collection), held a competition to design SGC's new bass... and the bass that became the Godlyke won (it was sold here in the UK as a Bass Collection).

Awakening a really old thread, only because in 2020, I found a “Deity” from SGC Nanyo, that is 100% branded as a Bass Collection bass. I got really lucky, as apparently it sat in a warehouse the entire time. It’s “new” old stock. Never previously owned.
