"God's Not Dead"

I guess I was remiss in finding it questionable.

???

As for you being offended, it's like porn, only those that aren't offended should look at it.
I find the movie offensive because it misrepresents atheism. *Spoiler alert*, the antagonist isn't even an atheist. If someone hates a god, he's not an atheist.
From the sound of it, you weren't the only one to find it questionable, just the only one to get on a high horse and bloviate.
Word of the day.

Gorn Captain. It is my understanding that we are not supposed to link to anything obscene in TB. That vid is full of obscenities. Children come on TB too you know.

I am not impressed by your lack of judgement. Where is your sense of social responsibility?

TB leadership: is this how you want the legacy of TB to proceed? Is this what you want children that visit TB clicking on?

I implore SOMEONE to delete that link.

Yep, I could have just reported it in secret instead of doing it head on with the poster. I don't roll like that.
Next time I, or anyone else posts something you find offensive, or my lack of judgement doesn't impress you, or you're concerned that children may see something with profanity, or you question my sense of social responsibility, or potentially sully the talkbass legacy if posts like mine are allowed, and you choose to address me directly rather than report me, make sure to reply to my post with the reply button so I get an alert. I never would have seen your response had I not revisited the thread.

Is Kevin Sorbo more of a star than Dean Cain? Personally, I liked "Lois and Clark" a lot better than "Hercules".
I know I am going to catch some flack for this but I don't think Kevin Sorbo is that bad of an actor. :bag: Sure he's no Tom Hanks but he is not horrible either. Is Kevin Sorbo more of a star than Dean Cain? I don't know I will have to watch "The Dog Who Saved Easter" and get back to you. Or, maybe not. :chicken:

I don't think he's a bad actor at all. I don't think he's a good one, but he's passable. I'd say his and Dean Cain's acting prowess is about equal. As to who's the bigger star, it's hard to say.

Interestingly, they both apparently have equal net worths according to this website:

It is hard to say who would win a fight between Superman and Hercules. My money is on Superman unless Hercules finds some Kryptonite.

"I know I was wrong, but...." And so on.

On the depiction of academics: actually, it can happen. My wife had a writing teacher who was into shamanism, and when he found out she was a christian, singled her out. She had only just recently become a believer, was about 18 or 19 years old, and was constantly put on the spot as the class' token Christian to justify or defend anything and everything about the religion, and treated with contempt when she wasn't prepared to out-debate a 50-year-old PhD. Most academics are wise enough not to indulge in that kind of bullying, but you do get one every once in a while.

Hard to be the "token" and be singled out when 2/3 or more of the other students in the classroom share your faith.

As one who is going to hell, to me, it doesn't matter who is or is not dead. I used to worry about such things, but once I realized I was beyond redemption and my fate was determined, there was no longer any point in worrying about what lies beyond this life for me.
