The "Hi-Lux" mirrors might have tipped me off but I was thinking they were aftermarket.
I was thinking Pugeot but didn't feel at all solid with that.

Ha! I also thought Peugeot for an instant, then I saw the mirrors and knew it was a Toyota. Otherwise, it really does look like those old Peugeot wagons.

For awhile, Peugeot was planning to return to the US, but Stellantis has abandoned those plans. They make some nice-looking SUVs that might succeed here (including electrics), and some of their sedans look great, but it's a brutal market so staying out is probably the right call.

While I suspect you're right re: trying to enter the market currently, I would love to see some Peugeots here. Their sedans, wagons and hatches are all pretty nice looking. And, as you mentioned, electrics...
