This one has been loitering in my garage for the last eighteen years. I drove my grandmothers Dodge Dart hand me down grocery getter when I was a youngster. Always wanted another that would have matched the dream in my head when I was a kid. It ain't perfect but it's close…. And loads of fun… And is a great reminder of why disk brakes were the best automotive invention of all time.

It was my Grandparent's neighbor's car, and I fell in love with it when I was around 5-6. I used to play in it on visits (with permission). They sold it to my Grandfather for nothing when I was 15-16 and they were moving away for retirement.
It's a dressed up crate 318 with 340 badging. Can't tell the difference visually so why not? It's all for show anyways... LOL

Yeah.... Well I got nothing left. I loved working on that old car as a poor young man. My old knees and crackerjack back won't allow me to spend more than 15-20 minutes standing on the shop floor these days. Wish I would have had todays purse strings when I put that old car on the road. My grandson will take ownership of the old car in a few years. Not exactly a car, but I don't know what to call it. On Sundays folks bring their creations and restorations to the local shopping center to display them. This one showed up awhile ago. I told my wife not to touch it or we might have to buy it, but she doesn't follow instructions, at least not from me.

Not the kind of trike to give to your five year old, though. Definitely not a "Hot Wheels."

My "like" is for the El Camino.
Look at the VIN on the ElCamino and see if it starts with 138.
If so, it's a real SS396 and they only built 5208 of them in 68, which was the first year that the SS package was available on an ElCamino.
