Gold anodized pickguards.

i have an anodized pg on my Pbass deluxe, and i feel the same way.

it feels wierd, its too rigid to put a pick under (not that i'm a regular pick guy, but i like to keep one handy).

does look cool though...
 
They can take a beating, but like the above poster said, you can't put your pick in there. But you'll never have to worry about the edge of your PG breaking off near the jack now. :p

I don't get the "feel comment" its just a pickguard, most people don't even touch it during the course of normal playing.

A tip if you do you a pick and you need a place to put it: wedge it between two strings at headstock
 
I play with my fingers and I anchor my thumb nail against the edge pickguard in line with the end of the neck.
It just feels dry and abrasive.
Sort of like a "finger nails across the chalkboard" feeling.
I can live with it but I was just wondering.
