good amp for effects?

disclaimer: i'm coming from a guitar background and i don't know a lot about bass gear. i just posted in amps and they said the effects forum would be more help.

i'm having some issues with my rig.

currently i'm running a thunderbird into an mxr dyna comp, boss rv-5, and a boss od-2 into an ampeg 350h and a 70s ampeg svt 810.

my issues are these:
i'm always peaking. the peak indicator light is constantly blaring red light at me and only goes off if i run the volume at 2 or less.

my amp cuts out randomly UNLESS! i'm using the overdrive. then it never cuts out. seems rather arbitrary to me.

and its also not quite loud enough. it is very loud, don't get me wrong, but when my 2 guitarists are both running full SUNN tube rigs, my little solid state amp can't quite keep pace.

any thoughts or troubleshooting help? these problems are becoming rather annoying. i'm looking into upgrading to an ampeg svt-4 but i don't wanna spend money unless i know the issues will be resolved.

thanks!!!
