Good & cheap web hosting??

I'm looking to move my website to a new web hosting company. Not looking for free web hosting - don't want ads or forum posting requirements. Would love to find something around $3/month. Any recommendations?

I use Link Removed very reliable, easy to work with. Might be a little more than $3/month, as that's only $36/year. They start @ $8/mo. But I think that includes the domain name.

Thanks - I know $3/mo is optimistic. I was paying $5/mo - really would rather not pay more if I can.

i used webhostingpad for may band's website - $2/month without issues. They don't get the strongest reviews, but its cheap and works well enough.

godaddy is bad? it has good prices and lots of people use it

My $8/mo gets me a real person on the phone who can help me with anything, speaks English and is a pro at anything web related. So, it's a great deal.

$4 a month gets me a real person on the phone, sometimes it's even the owner. I've been with them for at least 8 years now, always been stable and they are really quick to resolve any of the minor issues I've had.

Plus they pick up the tab for registration on your main domain

If you know the business, they are annoying to borderline shady... if you don't know the business, they 'upsell' you a lot of crap you don't need.

My sites never looked like they did when I created them once they hit GoDaddy. It had big problems with fonts and media and I initially bought the cheapest service so they put an ad bar across the top of every page. They aren't cheap enough to deal with the headaches.

Thanks - I don't know the business... built my own site and was using afmu which seems to be out of business although they still have a website up - nothing works.

I hope moving my domain to a new host is not an issue.

Real people are always a plus.

I'm using Hostmonster for about $90 per year. Good built-in services and they have been responsive when I've called or emailed.
