Good comedy movies

Happy Gilmour
Bruce Almighty
Planes, Trains and Automobiles
Liar Liar
Ace Ventura 1 and 2
Pooty Tang
Ferris Bueler's Day Off
The Ladykillers
Scary Movie 1, 2 and 3
American Pie 1 and 2...

I'll think of more later... :)

Even though dated, some WC Fields movies break me.

One little-known gem is "International House." In it, Cab Calloway's band plays "Reefer Man" (yeah, the movie is from 1933 and the "reefer" reference is just what you think it is), and the doghouse bassist plays a solo that is just amazing!!!....."Det boy's on dat reefah!"

"The Bank Dick" and "Never Give a Sucker an Even Break" are also great Fields' classics.

For a more contemporary bent, I like "Office Space" with Jeniffer Aniston. It's modeled on the "Dilbert" comic strip.

If you can handle the bizarre, Frank Zappa's "200 Motels" is a riot.......but if you haven't been in the rock business, you may not get a lot of the humor. It has the Who's Keith Moon and a topless Bonnie Raitt among other rock stars of the period. "Spinal Tap" and "A Mighty Wind" just had too many lame/unfunny moments for me.

So many more, but don't want to bore you.

Super Troopers
Strange Brew
Stripes
Ghostbusters
Videodrome (It's extremely weird and disturbing, but funny too, especially on repeat viewings)
The Big Lebowski
The Ladykillers (just saw the new one - hilarious! "But I can't really play the buttsack!" You should make sure you know what Bob Jones University is about before you see it)
Dazed and Confused
Hot Shots
The Naked Gun
Frog-g-g
Shrek
Ravenous
Pretty much anything with the Marx Brothers

Horrible, horrible movie...sadly it is one of his most popular. I just don't understand, that and Mallrats were garbage, and Kevin Smith has admitted it, and still they are popular. Oh well, whatever floats your boat I guess.

My favourite comedy just happens to be a Kevin Smith movie:
Clerks. All that stupid banter/comedy appeals to me for reasons I am stll unaware of.

Dogma was great too.

Billy Madison was pretty good too.

in no particular order:

Monty P and the Holy Grail

History of the World part 1

Full Metal Jacket (To me, its comedy.)

Happy Gilmore

Billy Madison

The Meaning of Life

Mrs. Doubtfire

Jackass

IT (Another movie of a genre that is not comedy that i call comedy)

Spaceballs

Airplane

Blazing Saddles

Major Payne

Remember, the movies I listed were 'dorm movies' it doesn't matter if they are good or not, they end up being hilarious.

that aside, jay and silent bob strike back was pretty awesome imo, mainly because of all the excellent star wars references, and will ferrell, and that low bass slide thing that happens like 15 times throughout the movie (mmmmwoooooommm)

Top Secret
Airplane!
Monty Python and th Life of Brian
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
