I just joined talkbass.com. As a beginner bass player I think it's
just what I have been looking for. I have already found and
downloaded some interesting and informative lessons I'll start
working on.
I've played guitar for quite some time and decided to switch
to bass about March or April. Got tired of showing up with 30
other guitar players ... heh heh.
Found out when I switched that bass was really fun, interesting
and not all the difficult to play. Until, that is, I wanted to make
music. I found some good basic material in a Roscoe Beck DVD
and a couple good books. Once I make my way through that I'll
most likely get serious and look for a good instructor.
Looking forward to being a member of this community. And
perhaps sometime in the future I'll be able to contribute in
some way.

Dave J
