Good head, bad cabs = ?

It is a really good price for that cab, but first and foremost, i need a head. It seems that the LMII would use up all my funds. Is there any amp that gets close to the LMII sound? At all?

In 30 years of playing, I can honestly say that I have never heard a SS amp that sounds as good as a LMII, followed closely by the Shuttle.

Would the Micromark be enough to practice and rehearse with?

IIRC, it's just a LMII design with a scoop knob.

Ok, i'll probably be able to get the LM 250w, and some sort of cheap cab, i've got around 650 for amp and cab now. So...

Any recommendations, besides used? There is a shortage of affordable bass cabs in my neighborhood.
