Good Medley/Mashup Suggestions:

We do a medley of the two versions of The Letter.

We start with the Box Tops version and at the snare shot at the end right before the "airplane" part we kick it to the Joe Cocker The Letter riff. We then do that whole song except for the acapella part at the end. People love it!

We also do a Santana mash-up of the first two verses of Evil Ways then at the keyboard break we go into the the first two verses, the lead breal and third verse of Black Magic Woman. Then we go back for the last verse of Evil Ways with the rockin' outro.

I'm working on a bold one: Wait Til Tomorrow/Hey You (Banana Splits/No Doubt); both are psychedelic-pop gems with harpsichord keyboard sounds. One is an obscurity from the genuine psychedelic era; the other is a 90's homage to the style, and both have some serious groovin' in D-major. Certainly not for everyone, but I would be highly interested in how an audience might react, once this is performed. There's 2 different vids to the Splits song on You Tube, and if you look long enough, you'll find a stereo .mp3 file. My money's on Carol Kaye for the original bassline; picked P, if there ever was one.

The whole idea is to not be like every other cover band, have fun challenging yourselves and your audiences with memorable songs that stay in your head long after the amps are turned off for the night. Yes, I may have said similar words to these, earlier in the thread, but it bears repeating.

Also, for all of you who do the aforementioned E-A-D mashup, try mixing in Jefferson Starship's "Stairway to Cleveland" with it. The "F U, we do what we want" part ought to get some crowd noise going.

Good stuff, not sure how it goes over since it's a lot of instrumentals (watch some of your other vids too) but the band is tight. Nice bass tone from the G&L too. What's your rig?

My band is doing Willie Nelson's reggae treatment of his tune "I've Just Destroyed The World", then during the lead we modulate up a fourth, and go into our reggae-fied "My Way". We call it, obviously, "Destroyed the World My Way".

Always gets applause & a chuckle or two!

Sitting at home playing acoustic guitar, I do a single verse/chorus medley of Wild Thing -> Summertime Blues -> Louie, Louie -> The Seeker -> Blitzkrieg Bop (all in A)

We do Foreigner's "Hot Blooded" into CCR's Fortunate Son...drum beat and pretty much the bass patterns are the same.

We also do Blackfoot's "Train Train" with a couple of verses of Johnny Cash's "Folsom Prison Blues". After the first guitar break of TT, the singer starts singing Folsom while we keep playing TT. Works out really well...

Eruption/Van Halen into Smokin'/Boston

I didn't like the idea at first, but after we did it once, I could tell it was going to be a crowd-pleaser. Not a lot of guitarists can pull off the Van Halen licks, and not a lot of keyboardists do Smokin' well.

We have a four song medley that goes like this:
1. Take On Me
2. Major Tom (Peter Schilling)
3. Whip It
4. The Metro (Berlin)
5. Major Tom reprise (last verse and choruses)

For fun, during the Major Tom outtro, the drummer sings the chorus, the keyboardist sings "Take on Me" and I sing lines from "Whip It."

We also do "Under Pressure" with a bit of Ice Ice Baby in the middle.

Also we are working on mashing up Manic Monday and 1999... possibly even at the same time!
