I've had great results both live and recorded with the EHX Germanium OD, the DHA VT-1, and currently with the Tech 21 Leeds.

Check out the Visual Sound Open Road Overdrive. IMHO... It's the best overdrive pedal on the market. It works great for bass and guitar.

I went on Beck's recomendation and he is dead on correct. I'm sure there is some botique pedal out there that is as good or better, but for $119 you can't go wrong with Visual Sound's Open Road pedal for adding a nice warm and natural sounding SVT tube break. Works great in front of a solid state amp to give it some character. I run mine in front of a MarkBass F1 and it sounds like my Aguilar DB751. Fantastic!!!
Do you have any soundclips?
No clips, no pedal.![]()

If possible you should use the 30-day-return policy of some online shop and check out different pedals until you find one that matches your "idea" of crunch/fuzz/etc..
