Good pre-amp for DB-90 Dr. Beat Metronome?

My drummer has the DB-90 dr. beat metronome but loses it because he has no volume control. Any suggestions on a cheap pre-amp so we can play on time? Its getting real frustrating chasing his bpm. thanks for any advice.

Our drummer plugs his into a little mixer and adjusts the volume from there. Maybe that would work?

He should work on volume control. If I was in your shoes I'd make sure he can visually see the indicators on the screen (both the arm and the LEDs). He could plug in headphones to the unit as well. I had a DB-90 and the headphone output can get really loud.
