I have an Ibanez SR670 and i like the overall character of the bass I just am a bit disappointed in the clarity and punch of the pickups. Is there any easy replacement that can get a bright clear punch and won’t require too much work?

Good replacement for Bartolini BH2’s?

I replaced the Asian Barts on an Ibby Bass I had with the USA CBC version in the same size, and upgraded the dull Ibby preamp with an EMG pre: much better tone for clarity and bandwidth, and better control of onboard tone shaping. The only soldering I had to do was to solder the pickup leads to the Balance/Pan control since it was the version of the EMG pre made especially for passive pickups.
