Good string through-body flatwounds

I just built a bass that is string through-body. I am a big fan of LaBella "deep talkin basss" flatwounds, but they aren't long enough to go through body. Anyone know of any strings that are similar in quality that will be long enough?

D'Addario Chromes, Extra Long, might be long enough. D'Addario's website shows you how to tell.

The extra long Chromes will and the longs will as well if you trim a little bit of the felt. Ernie Ball Custom Gauge are long enough too.

Sadowsky flats go through the body well. I had them on my DJ4.

Fender 9050 are long enough. I just installed a set on my American Deluxe.

I have Chromes on my Jazz, through the body. They fit just fine.

FYI, LaBella does not recommend through the body. So even if the strings fit, don't do it.

i have run 760fl's thru body a number of times with no problems or issues whatsoever

but i have done many things thru the years that was not recommended by the manufacturer

[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]On an mia p bass, Roto and d'adario flats are long enough to go thru the body. I have to string thru the body, because the windings go past the saddles if i string thru bridge. Rotos(regular long scale) go on without a hitch. Chromes(long scale), you have to cut some silk off the tuner end and the taper on the E string just makes it over the nut, even with pretty high action.

I have an early 70's P-Bass I keep flats on and have been using in Country/Blues band I play with. I have been worried lately about taking it to gigs, so I bought a used Fender MIA Precision. I have GHS Precision Flatwounds on it ,and they string up fine going through the body.The silk clears the nut about midway between the nut and string tree. I do like the GHS Flatwounds because they are a very trad. sounding flatwound string. I know the D'Addario Chromes 100-45 set come in extra long,if you are interested in the Chromes. Steve

In that pic, it almost looks like the tapered part ends before the nut, but the fat part goes past the nut.

I've got some GHS nylon flatwounds on my 5-string Carvin fretless bass strung through the body. Works great!

GHS Precision flats are on two of my strung thru body basses. They sound really good on them.
