Google Chrome Browser Released!

I've been using it for a few weeks now, and I quite like it. It's fast, NO popups (if I remember correctly, I still even got a few on firefox), and I like the interface. The issue I have with it is that some sites have plugins that aren't compatible with it yet, but hopefully that will fix itself soon. But at this point, I prefer it to ie (which got to the point where it was freezing up every several minutes) and firefox (which crashed once in a while when I was running a lot of tabs).

I've been using Chrome exclusively on my Desktop since it has been released. Very fast on the upside but does not have the addins that firefox has. Also running Shiretoko (new firefox beta) on my laptop and it seems to be even faster thou most users would not see any difference.

Do you think it's a good idea that every tab works as a separate process?

I'm no expert, but I do. It does not make for the fastest browsing, but it's a lot more consistent. A tab can freeze up due to some javascript loop, and the rest of them will keep working fine, because the bogus one can't eat more processing power than it is being given.

I've yet to have FF crash without a very good reason. That reason is usually another program ****ing up. Quicktime, Adobe, etc....

Then usually there is an update a day later for the addon in question

I've been using it since it was released. The updates make it better and better. There have been quite a few issues but they've ironed out most of the kinks now. Yahoo mail works, embedded videos work, plugins work etc.

My only main complaint is that it needs more customisation. So many times I've gone to change a feature (like you can in IE) only to find you can't do it in Chrome.

I tried it when it was released. Couldn't see that it did anything I needed that FF and IE didn't already do...and that meant there was no reason to learn a new interface and burn up hard drive space on it. Deleted it after a few minutes.

That was a few months ago...haven't had any reason to go back and re-visit Chrome. At the moment, I'm diagnosing a problem in my wireless laptop at home - IE connects to the wireless router, FF won't connect. Been working on it for days, and haven't solved it.
