ah. I would assume that there is a large beer pyramid or something on the other side of the street, just out of the current view. That or a couple mini vans with moms waiting for them to finish.
Are you sure there just insn't a bar across the street?

Dude, you need to become more acquainted with the "neighborhood bar"; something I was unaware of until I moved to KC. There are some great dives in residential neighborhoods, right next to houses.
