Window shopping again? You have a terminal case of GAS don't you?
A lot of people have been using Okume as a substitute lately. Ash production may pickup again, this year did not see so much flooding in the Mississippi Valley, but then covid popped up. Maybe if things calm down in terms of rain and the pandemic next year, folks can get some choice swamp ash.
Pray tell, what is wrong with window shopping and sharing pretty pictures?
Window shopping is fine. Spreading contagious GAS is another thing.

The OCD part of me that likes everything to match is wincing a little bit at that.
I want another string and a black pickup cover. That’s all.
Despise the white pickup cover but otherwise it's really nice
The white pickup offends my eye.
I thought it was pretty cool, but it does really stand out!
If GAS is that much of an issue, you need to stick to the music education sections of TB.

I'd love to try one of these since I'm not a fan of active basses but definitely like the way a StingRay feels.
This one is supposed to be a greasy funk machine (in my eyes). This has the short scale electronics package and Slo Special neck. We've been using Okume since the early 2010's on guitars. "African Mahogany" is the trade name and that is what we used to call it. We made the decision to use Okume to be more transparent...
It's lighter, not endangered, and sounds very similar to mahogany.

As I have posted about in the past, my NYC Sadowsky fretless has an okume body because that's what the shop recommended. If it's good enough for Roger, it's good enough for me.
And while I was posting, so was @Scott Ball. I'll therefore add that if it's good enough for him, it's good enough for us!
