Got 3 Songs To Choose

Heyo! So I'm just getting into a new project. The drummer suggested bringing in 3 songs to play (brilliant idea). Anything. Preferably NOT the genre we are going for, which is kinda "Tool but hopefully a new spin on it" vibes (not my bass playing but I have a decent take on it sans exact delay tone):

My thoughts are to go with my roots, so blues rock, which means Stone Temple Pilots, and my favorite is this:
The 3rd song (not 2nd, because that is the next question) is 99% this (the rhythm is sick):
So... the 3rd... drummer loves Primus. I play bass. I love "Nature Boy," and I have another B standard bass for maybe "My Name Is Mud," but they're all structurally kinda "meh." Really fun but dunno what the band gets from it. The other alternate is Filter "Hey Man Nice Shot." I'm leaning toward that. Simple. Chorus is funny syncopated I think. The "and" is off. Dig it. What would your big three be and please critique mine. We are already working on Tool's "The Grudge," so please no 1000min songs or Dream Theatre. Peace!

My first question is what is the point of this project? Are you trying to create a bar band? A recording project? Where are you trying to go? What's the goal(having fun is perfectly valid)?

Are you bringing in songs that don't sound like your intended sound so you can rearrange them into something your own? Are you just jamming and having a few beers?

Are you specifically choosing songs that aren't common time simply because you think they'll be fun to play, or is that what you're ultimately aiming for?

Without a good understanding of why you're choosing the songs you're choosing, I don't know if you're going to get much useful help.
