Got a 7-String Tsai!!!!

Well, a buddy of mine called me up 'cuz he knew I was thinking about trying an ERB. I have never had more than 5-strings. He got this last night with the intention of trading it for other gear because he already has real nice fretted and fretless Bee Bases (10 and 9 strings respectively).

So I jumped on it and traded him a power amp and rack bag I wasn't using for it. It is a typical Antoniotsai, nice inlay work, a pretty good sound, neck is straight as an arrow and plays pretty nice.

Issues: NECK DIVE!!!!!! but I knew about this going in and it is bearable. Also, the fretwork leaves something to be desired but the previous owner had some work done on them and there aren't any buzzes I have found yet (but there are a lot of notes to check :p)

All in all, I am very happy with it especially for the price!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cool looking bass you got there. sounds like you dig it.
The tone on mine was quite good. very low volume but nice punch and presence.
I just recently sold my 6 string tsai. didn't get as much as i had wanted, but i paid to ship it from vietnam which was a considerable percentage of the whole cost.

I wasn't really willing to spend the money to replace the frets.
But anything mroe than 5 strings is just more than i can mute so it had to go.

I almost bought one new about 3 months ago and came to the conclusion that for a few hundred more I could get a used Conklin so I didn't do it but this price was SOOOOOO right :bassist:

Yeah, some look good, most look tacky...

I'm more for a blank fretboard though...

I may replace the electronics if I hold onto it, I can always get Bill Bartolini to make me a custom set if need be. I wonder if any companies make a drop in replacement?

Yea, I hear ya, this is my "I wonder if I can pull off an ERB" bass. If worse comes to worse, I will just pur a wide piece of foam down and use it for solo tapping stuff.
