Got a good 'Complisult?'

There the type of statement where you don't immediately know if you should say 'thanks' or be pissed off. I just thought of a couple.

I just always called the back-handed compliments.
A friend of my wife's makes them all the time, Im pretty sure its a result of her own insecurities. You know, trying to bring other people down to her level in a somewhat friendly seeming way.

HA! I really should have read the second post.

I can't be the only one that thought this thread referred to a 'complislut'.

No. No, sir, you were not the only one.

The only one I could think of is, after playing a pretty good game of basketball, "Hey! Way to hustle out there...."

Ya know, since I don't have any actual basketball skill and all :atoz:

I think, perhaps, that was just as actual compliment...

A few "compliminsults" here, as I've been collecting these with all my pals over the years. Glad to pass them on, because they're fun.

- "good is NOT the word."

- "I was thoroughly entertained."

- "you're so pro, dude..."

- "that was the best I've ever heard you play..."

- "I could never do that."

- "You've really got your own thing..."

- "I can really hear what your going for..."

- "Tones.....the tones, man...."

- "well, you've done it again!"

Yeah...like I haven't heard that one before :rollno:

Hey, did you know that racism doesn't exist anymore? Turns out it's all in your head. Who'd a thunk it!

So only our heads and psyche are racist? PROGRESS! :rollno:

*ahem*

"Wow, I didn't know short people could play rugby!" and "You're pretty social for a biologist" are 2 I got a lot while in school. Now I work in business analytics and am too short to play in a men's union. Funny that.
