I don't really sweat the GAS, heck when I sell used, I often make a slight profit.

My favorite local store just a got a pristine NT Thumb 5, and Lordy, Lordy, that thing felt and sounded divine!!!
The slap tone is OK, but the finger tone is to die for. If that sucker hangs around a few months, my wife is just gonna have to cuss me out and out me on the couch for a month.
That said, I think the Thumb actually has less growl than my humble Streamer Standard. Those pickups so close to the bridge have punch and definition like a MoFo, but the growl, not so much.
The one thing that scares me about that bass is the position I had to hold my arm in to play it, I think it does have the potential to generate carpal tunnel if one is not careful.
