John; that's cool man;)
Explain the three dip switches plz and thx?
Now that Fred's back, put in DarkStar in there and see how you like that...

(Ps: ordered one of the skb gigbags, thx for the tip on that. we'll see if it holds what needs to go in there)

I'd like to try a Darkstar pickup sometime. Do they come without those horrid giant chrome bezels? They just look like 1950's Edsel bumpers to me.
Or maybe with a subdued black bezel, or, maybe for some of these basses, gold?

"does it come with that horrid chrome bezel"

You'd have to get with Fred at Hammon Engineering and ask him what else he's got.
I like it, but different folks have different sense of aesthetics.

it's actually only one dip switch with two thumbwheel pots ( with a 2 band singray preamp). the pickup is a nordstrand MM4.4 quad coil with the coils rearranged to get split p, all coils on, and reverse p modes, and the slide switch goes from series to parallel when all four coils are on (middle toggle position). hopefully this'll give a more clear explaination:

actually, the bass sounds so good, i wouldn't change a thing on it.

glad that i could help. :)

I was just kinda bummed that G&L had gotten rid of the 'gold hardware' option on basses shortly before I ordered this.

i personally like the chrome hardware on it alot better, since it gives it a little contrast, and IMO, that bass has more than enough 'bling' already. ;)

Thanks! I like it too - and honestly, although I ordered it with that color scheme mainly for my 'disco/dance' band, I use it anywhere and everywhere, because it's just that amazing a bass. The first 2 pics above are live with my Led Zep tribute band...
