That is a prime example of a P. Keep it and cherish it! I the preamp really does start to annoy you, leave it for ten years of so and sell it in TB for around three times the current price. Apparently there were less than 200 made!

The strings are GHS precision flats. Another recommendation from the TB community.

Really the pictures don't do it justice. It looks so much better in person. There are two small patches of exposed wood, but that gives it even a better look to me. It adds character.

First off, this is a beautiful bass and it's always awesome when you can get your hands on a former lost love.

I noticed in the picture of the headstock that it looks like the G string is angled from the nut to the tuner. Is that just how the picture was taken? Am I seeing the downward angle coming off the tree because it looks like it is moving left to right?

Either way, it's a beautiful bass. Congrats!

I had a CAR P Special and stupidly sold it years ago. My only real problem with it was the weight. Your walnut bass is especially beautiful.

Looks like a lot of wraps on those posts, are the strings uncut? I was debating not cutting the flats I put on my p but the posts are not the straight kind like yours so I trimmed them.
