Got my Skjold 6'er

The singlecut really solves the balance problem. It allows the body to be nice and light while being very well balanced. My bass is a spanish cedar/maple body and if it were a roscoe SKB it would be neck heavy. Roscoe solved the problem by offering the century body but Skjold soves the problem by using the single-cut design.

This particular design gives you complete access to all 24 frets. It's really incredible. I practiced on it for about 4 hours tonight and I'm just really pleased with it. I've played about 1/2 a dozen boutique basses since I got my maple neck Roscoe SKB-3006 and every one has fallen short but bass will replace the Roscoe as my #1 bass.

JZ, Congratulations!
that's the way I felt about my F Bass, the Skjold is my #1 now and my beloved F Bass and the rest of the family have been some what negelected at least when it comes to the gig, the Skjold is that good in every aspect. The Skjold/East preamp is awesome once you get use to it. I see a singlecut in my future, for now I am waiting on the Lions Pride, then a fretless
OH! I am hooked like on Jesus!

Enjoy!

an update...Played the Skjold in a rehearsal yesterday and it just blew everyone away. People couldn't get over how I could get such a great funk/slap tone and then switch to a jaco fingerstyle groove and then play jazz solos up past the 15th fret where it sounded like a hollowbody guitar on steroids. Not to mention the jazz groove sounds I can get out of it...

sound clips coming soon. Extremely busy processing orders for my Sheets of Sound Vol II book which just came out (shameless plug...). I'm also trying to get a slapping and popping guitar book out in November and along with everything else I'm very swamped. I was thinking of doing some clips over the weekend (maybe sunday) if I get a free moment but I gotta spend some time with the family too. :-)
