GOTOH Carbon-O-Lites

Hey fellow lowenders,

I was wondering have anybody had experience with the gotoh Carbon-O-Lite

The bridge looks cool as HE double hockey sticks. However was wondering if any bass players have one on their bass and could give an opinion.

i thought about getting the bridge, but that ax needed weight relief at the headstock, not the body!

first off. I like your bass. Secondly: So as I’m trying to gather their concept behind this. Carbon fiber is something like aluminum as far as its resonance. It will allow string vibration to go to the body extremely quickly. While titanium saddles are known for the characteristics of brass as it pertains to it’s warm sound however, it has the characteristics of stainless steel also because of its bright note definition, so you get the best of both worlds. In “theory” it’s the perfect bass bridge. However I wholly acknowledge I’ve not tried it yet.

thanks, i love that ax for its 'lightness of being' --- exactly 6 lbs.!

i think you know a lot more about CF than i care to know --- i bought those on a gamble just for the neck dive issue. they have worked great (no dive!) and they look 'cool', so there's that.

i look forward to the report on your own experience should you end up getting that bridge --- good luck! :thumbsup:

Well, I’ve already bought the bridge and I am making a 1961 piece loving soul jazz bass so once I’m done with all of the painting, finishing and inlays, I’m going to be moving on to the hardware
