Gotta admire brand loyalty

If you read TB long enough one thing becomes very clear-
Fender Rumble has the most loyal customers on earth.
No matter the criteria, Rumble gets recommended the most.

I play Slavic Gnome-metal. Lots of 8-15 hertz content, and must deafen a festival crowd-
Get a Rumble.

Money is no object, I have lots, and want the best amp on the market.
Get a Rumble.

I only have seven dollars, and get to gigs on a bicycle.
Get a Rumble 500, and 2 4x10's!

I'm replacing my SVT, and fridge, what's the hot set-up?
Rumble 25 rocks the basement.

My wife ran off with her periodontist.
Get a Rumble.

Wow,, after reading this all I'm wondering is how much fender would pay for an ad like this!

While I was at GC, I also plugged into a number of various sized Ampeg BA V2 series amps, and I had this reaction with all of them......quite *GOOD* sounding, IMO (especially the BA-115 V2).

I guess that just means, when it comes to portable combos, I prefer the Ampeg tone versus the Fender tone. Pure personal preference there. But I know one thing for sure, nobody could ever talk me into buying a Fender Rumble amp.

YMMV of course! :)
I have an Ampeg BA10v2 and it IS superior to the Rumple 40 I also own, but not my much, and it weighs almost twice as much which is like, one feather vs 2 feather. The Fender has a more mushy tone, more suited to low end, the Ampeg is clean across the board. Box shape and weight account for it somewhat.

It really is amazing how often the word Rumble comes up in TB. Every time someone asks (often) which Class D amp to buy most of the answers are "Rumble." I started on Fender in the 60's when they sold wimpy bass amps and tried them over the decades and they tried and tried to develop a vision for something else besides the P and J basses, the Strats and Tele's, and Fender guitar combo amps. Well, somehow they finally struck on a formula that a lot of bass players like. I'm glad for them. Sadly, I tried a few Rumble combos in GC and still prefer my Gallien Kruegers.

Nothing wrong with brand loyalty. When a product is mentioned over and over again, the company must be doing something right.

The real question is, if it hasn't already been asked, what is the best bass for slavic gnome metal?
Only one could possibly do it and be able to cover the requisite range needed.

I get more use out of my Rumble than any amp I own. Heavy equipment seems stupid now, it doesn't sound better and unless I am pumping up for a body building competition, I'm picking the Rumble. I have a Phil Jones that I use for Jazz gigs, but it doesn't have enough power for anything else. Rock - Rumble, Blues - Rumble, Funk RUMBLE! Until someone makes a lighter amp that sounds as good, I'm using the Rumble.

I remember a few years back when everyone started raving about the Rumble. I hadn't realized Fender re-tooled the line and I was still thinking they were talking about the blackface combo version that was basically the budget line of the solid-state Bassman that Fender had out at the time (this amp: Invalid Link Removed). I was like, "Really? People like those? They are the epitome of low-end junk." Then I realized that Fender totally redesigned that amp line.

Trading my Eden rig and 4001 Ric for a Rumble 500 and a VM Sqier P. Also about to enroll in online periodontal school at Trump university.

IMO the Rumble is kind of a one trick pony

So a (1) classy looking, (2) inexpensive combo amp that sports the Fender logo, (3) weighs next to nothing and (4) has a useful sound that goes a lot louder than you'd expect from the pricetag/weight ratio.

Thats 4 tricks - and why I own a 500 and 100 combo. I think their sound is way more than "useful" also. Ive been playing out for 30+ years and for most of them dreamed of a lightweight, good sounding amp with adequate volume. I wouldnt trade these for anything.
