Ok, let me rephrase it…

Often a single 8 ohm cabinet or a single 4 ohm 212, 215 or 410/610/810 or 2 x 8 ohm cabinets will be a better match to the larger amps.

Thank you! I am a jazz player also and I use the 1x10 cab with the GR 350 watt head (at 4ohms, my cab is also 4ohm). It should be a perfect match. I was just wondering if it had enough volume, being such a small cabinet.

I respect what you do and your pedigree, but I can say from using it the 1x10" from GR Bass does not have a problem matching a larger powered amp (I had a 500 and an 800 in front of it). I definitely will not schlep a 212, 215, or 410. Heck, I don't want to take a 1x12 or 1x15. I want smaller and lighter at this point.

I owned the Bergantino IP112 and EX112 extension cab at an earlier time in my life. That rig was LOUD. Sound guys didn't even bother taking me direct with that rig lol

These days, I'm not playing large rock venues, either. If I was playing rock and larger venues, *maybe* I'd look at a different cab but my body thanks me for carrying the AT-110.

With my head I'm maybe using 150 - 200W at most. I have plenty of headroom left if I really needed to crank ... and hope I never do.

For those who followed the discussion about the color differences between the photos of my cab and GR Bass website, I just finished a discussion with Andrea Gipponi on Facebook. He was very honest and clear:

"It is not the panel that can vary in production. I didn't say that it's clearer in real life than yours, but that in the photographs the colors are slightly different because of the light." (...) "We'll resolve this situation"

I'm guessing that the engineers at these other companies would have no problem designing such a cab,

I'm also guessing that they don't for good reason.

Same with those multiple-tiny-speakers cabs.

There's always a gimmick, or a good idea taken to an extreme that never really works that well,

but many will latch on to this stuff like a bad religion.

I'll stick with the tried-and-true companies with engineers who properly use advanced technology to make good-working and dependable products.

I'm talking new, modern, well-engineered gear using the latest (dependable/proven) technology, nothing like the old stuff, nor the gimmicky toys y'all think are cool.

But nice try (not really). :)

Love my GR cab, maybe evaluate one in person prior to having such a strong negative opinion about something you have no experience with. :thumbsup:

This comment was posted in Sep 15, 2023. Almost 3 years later, they've re-designed their website twice but couldn't find a way to "resolve this situation". Liars.
