I kept getting told to drop stage volume and was already really low, so just decided to get rid of all stage volume.. and extra carry weight, don’t regret that decision at all
From the feedback I've seen, GR seems to respond to most or all of issues that have been brought up - more rugged reinforcement for feet, better attachment of the "flashing" (not sure what it's called), the front-facing vertical chrome-looking edge pieces, and handles (IIRC) on certain models.What happened to this thread? Anyone still playing the AT cabs these days, and how are they holding up long term? I’ve been a longtime Mesa Subway cab user, but my back is definitely starting to pull me toward the lighter weight options
I still suspect that some babying is going to be required, but they seem to be improved over what was and their customer response, if there are issues, seems to be good.
Another almost as light weight contender are some of the smaller Barefaced cabinets - Super Compact, Super Mini, One10, and Two10 cabs specifically.
The "10" cabs will not be as transparent as the "12" cabs.
Still rockin' my GR 2x10's and GR One 800. Granted I'm not playing much these days (hand injury), but they still sound great!
I'm still loving, as is my back, the 210V and 112 that I have. Most times I just take the 210 out as it's usually plenty loud for me, the band and the sound person. As for durability, yes I baby them more than a "traditional" cabinet with covers and care, but that's a small price for one trip load-in/out and what I think is great sound. I also have to dial back some treble or turn off the tweeter as I do find them a little "crispy" on the top end. But again, the trade-offs that exist here, and there always are trade-offs with any gear, are well worth it IMHO. Love them.
I have been using my AT 110 ACT exclusively for 6 months. I play at church twice a month and practice with a band (4 piece Funk and Rock) every weekend. It still sounds great, and has handled every situation beautifully. No cover, and no dings! I’m filling in with my old band (7 piece Funk band) over Memorial Day weekend. I’ll report back after that one. It makes me smile every time I pick it up.
None of my gear has been out of the house since early March, but I've got no reason to believe it won't perform as before. With reasonable care, these things should go the distance. Even though you can, you shouldn't throw them around like you'd want to throw a typical Tolex or rat fur covered wooden box.
Got my AT 210 and 115 in late March and definitely digging them. Man, they sound great. and the weight is a dream come true. I haven't had a chance play them both at a gig, but soon with summer coming up, I'm sure I will. I did bring each one separately to gigs, but only have a shot of the 210 in action.

I've gone kind of hog wild on GR Bass carbon rigs since the Fall of 2025, searching out good deals on used ones. So between then and now, in order of acquisition, I've gotten the AT212Slim ACT, AT Cube 800, and AT 210V Combo 800.
Since you are asking about the Cube 800, I'll tell you. I was expecting to use it as an ultralight rehearsal rig only, but found that it is quite capable as a stage monitor at some sizeable venues. The sound is stellar, full, clean, and quite loud actually. With the factory cover, it weighs in under 20lbs. I'm not crazy about the LED array and its modes. I usually leave that feature turned off and rely on my Microbass 3 as a front end and tuner. I tend to run the GR head in "Pure" mode, though enabling the full head with the MB3 at the input is versatile as well.. Very easy to set it up that way without overdriving it. Its how I use to run my Shuttle, but since I have the "Pure" option, I'm happy to use it that way. I'm basically using it like an ACT when set up for a gig or rehearsal, still have the option of plugging the bass directly in without any outboard gear.
I had read so much praise for the AT 210V Combo 800 that I decided to give it a shot. The praise is well deserved. While I really like the Cube 800, I prefer multiple drivers. Even though I'm more of a fan of 12s over 10s, the 210 is a sweet box that punches a bit better than the single 12 Cube without really needing to pull out the 31+ lb. 212Slim ACT. I like that it's front ported too.
These scenarios I've described are all 1 box solutions. If I were going to add an extension to any of these, I'd probably lean towards adding an AT Cube 112 or 112+ to the Cube 800. It's interesting to note that the Combos are all based on their non-Plus cab variations.
Since I just got a AT 210V Combo 800, can I ask how do you find the fan noise? It's louder than my prior GK combo even when its not under any load, but I am not sure if that's normal or just something with this particular AT 210V Combo 800.

I love my AT210. It really sounds great with either my Mesa D800 or and 800D atop of it. The 210 Combo looked great, and most likely sounds great, but it would be redundant.
The Cube AT112 800 sounds like it would fit for what I want it for. Geez. At 450 watts too. I wanted it to replace my MB Minimark ( 150 watts) as my small gig rig. I love my Minimark. It'll stay as a practice or living room get together amp. The Cube 800 comes in at 19.8 lbs. Even lighter that my MB which is about 20.5 lbs!
But for my evil plan to engage, I need to off some equipment!

Unfortunately, I'm not qualified to answer this with any accuracy. Significant upper register hearing loss. I know there's a fan, but I can't hear it.
The AT110 is, IMO, the finest cabinet for double bass. Very transparent uncolored tone.
I always wanted a vertical 410 set up since I fell in love with the idea of two Eden 210 XLT’s ….These 210V+’s are overkill… especially with the Berg in a 4 ohm configuration…. But this is SWEET. I’ve learned to love being asked to turn it down. The weight savings are a blessing for my aging back.
I had that with my Shuttle 210Combo + 210EXT. Unbelievably killer rig, but overkill, like you said. It actually never left my studio. My Shuttle 112Combo +112EXT was my preferred gig rig.....until I got the GR Bass gear.
The thing about that cab that I have come to dislike is that the port is in the back. Can easily end up with a lot of boominess depending on how it is placed in a room
Played my gig today with a 7 piece Funk band including a drummer and a percussionist. The GRBass AT 110 ACT was a beast! I had plenty of sound on stage, and I ran the DI out from the GR to FOH (small Yamaha PA) and sound out front crushed it. I ran the GR at about 2:00, so I could have gone louder, and the cab didn’t break a sweat! This is an amazing little box, and I can’t imagine ever needing anything else. Well worth the price I paid for it.

I have an ACT 110 that I’ve been using for upright work and I love it. I had back surgery recently so I’m looking to lighten my electric rig. I had been thinking about picking up the ACT 212 but now I’m wondering if just a second 110 ACT might do the trick.
