GR2 Effects Loop Synth

Hey TBers. I've been on TB for a long time but been dark for a while. I remember a lot of discussion years ago about what people have in their envelope filter effects loop, and I'm back it again lol.

I have 3 leaf GR2 and want to try to synth thing again. I recently ordered a Keeley Seafoam+ Chorus/Flanger. I was thinking about putting it with a Zvex Mastrotron and EHX Pitch Fork in the GR2 effects loop.

What say you? Is this still a thing a lot of people are doing? Any chatter/suggestions/stories/reviews are welcome! Thanks!

I definitely had success with a Z Vex Mastotron in the effect loop - I even have a recording:

This is from the same session - probably the Mastatron plugged in as seen in the pic, but not turned on:

To me, the main thing with the effects loop is that the GR-2 can distort/effect but with the un-effected input signal envelope/dynamics. Would the Pitchfork and/or chorus/flange sound better in the effects loop, or just after the GR-2? If they are in the effects loop, then they aren't accessible without the GR-2 unless you change the setting inside. I think I might try just the Mastotron in the effects loop for that special effect (distortion post-envelope). Whatever you do, have fun!
