Double Bass Grace Designs Felix and QSC K10.2

Folks,

I had my first gig with the Felix last night. As can be expected, I am in awe of this preamp. It is versatile, clean and well built.

In conjunction with the QSC K10.2 it sounded great and allowed me to get, what I felt was, a great sound in an otherwise problematic room. I adjusted the high's and mid's in the QSC eq down a bit to give me a head start with the eq.

I look forward to some more time with this preamp.

A nice combo for sure.

I feel pretty late to the "Felix" game. Haha.

Hey Michael, thank you for your post. How are you using the qsc? Pole mounted? Do you dig it as opposed to a normal bass amp? Also, are you blending w a mic? Thank you!, Iam a new Felix owner and always been curious about the power speaker set up
I am pole mounting it. The "Carter/Grenadier" approach. I don't like having my amp on the ground and have been using elevated amps and speakers for quite some time. I dig this setup much more than an amp. My personal preference.

I tried blending an ATPRO35 in my basement before the gig and the blend sounded really nice. I bet I will end up using the mic mix in certain situations in the future.

If I experiment with other mics, I'll report back.

Have a great weekend!

So,

I just received the Remic 5400LB from a TBer and added it to the mix ala @Adam Booker and @Ric Vice.

I conjunction with the Full Circle and the wonderful mix knob on the Felix, I was very impressed. I probably wouldn’t use the mic by itself, but as a nice additional “air” flavor or for arco solos I can see it being a winning combo!

That being said, now all I have to do is find out a way for Mike A. to return my emails so to give the most recent 1/8 a shot. Haha.

The QSC K10.2 sounds really good actually. Especially after adjusting the internal eq a bit.
