Graphite neck weight

I have a couple of Sterling by MusicMan Ray34CA basses that are in the range of 4,2 - 4,6 kg but all suffer from a neck-dive. I've been thinking if a graphite neck would help alleviate this issue.

I've tried contacting Status regarding this but they just replied that their necks weigh just about the same as a regular MM maple neck. The thing is, these Ray34CA necks feel really beefy and I have doubts that regular MM necks would be this heavy, i.e. causing a neck dive on a bass that is already not that light.

So, is there anyone who could tell me how much their Graphite neck weighs?

Not sure what kind are used on the Sterling but maybe a set of light weight tuners would do the trick.

I currently own a Status Jazz neck, and have previously owned another Jazz neck, one Stingray neck and one of Rob’s “Stingray with Jazz nut” models. They’ve all weighed about what a comparable high quality maple neck would weigh. None have solved or increased any neck dive issues. If yours is particularly neck dive prone then you might see an improvement but I’d think replacing the existing hardware with Hipshot Ultralight equivalents would be a better place to start.

Also of note; One of the Stingray necks was put on a Sterling Ray34 model and the neck pocket required some modification to accept the neck. It’s not as simple as removing the factory neck and bolting on the Status replacement.
