Great Bass Songs

Thanks for introducing me to the legend of Ronnie Baker. I'll be adding this to my playlist and will be listening to more of his stuff. Really like his style!
Glad I could make the introduction. Ronnie was another one of those unsung heroes – like James Jamerson, Bob Babbitt, Joe Osborne, Carol Kaye and countless others – whose wonderful basslines appeared on tons of great recordings but who never got listed individually in the credits. Detroit had The Funk Brothers. L.A. had The Wrecking Crew. Muscle Shoals had The Swampers. But only Philadelphia had MFSB and Ronnie Baker.

This Squarepusher dude took me some time to unpack! Thanks Lagado for introducing me to Tom. He is outstanding and doing some very unique stuff. No coincidence that your recommendation comes off his very bass-centric album freshly removed from his bass solo sabbatical. Cool album, and really interesting artist. Thanks again!

I like what he does with the deconstruction of time as much as all else. I like the fearless experimentation of it all, some of it works beautifully, some not so much. It's certainly a bit of a different journey, you don't always know where it's going. Check out the Shobaleader One vids if you haven't already, great players.
