Didn't watch the whole show but what I heard was great : Jamareo Artis with Silk Sonic, Adam Blackstone with Nas, Chris Stapleton's bassist, just great and effective low end!

Great bass work at the Grammys

That 1st performance by bruno mars and silk sonic was excellent! Does my heart good to see people still playing real music!
Jamareo Artis was smokin'! Great mix on them too.

AFAIK, award show performances these days are always pre-recorded.I know Paak can play, but I haven't seen any "real" live footage of them playing.
I haven't seen it the last two or three years, but historically the Oscars always had a live band...usually buried under the stage, or backstage. But they're always A-list players, because unlike the Grammy awards show the band gets no rehearsals for the Oscars, so everything is first take sight-reading. Neil Steubenhaus often fills the bass chair.
Pretty sure Silk Sonic was live though. BTS, not so sureWell... Semi-real

Yeah, I agree I think Silk Sonic was pretty darn near all live.
I Didn't watch it but went a long time ago 2001 Bob Dylan played live that's all i remember but pretty sure live didn't see all acts that where broadcast. I also worked in LA recording studios for years and all the Rap/R&B artist always had us do a TV mix that's full mix no vocals for when they performed "LIVE" for broadcast.Well... Semi-real

Stapleton sounded live to me. I guess you never know but I don't think he does pre-recorded tracks.

Damn near every electric bass in the performances was a p bass too.
John Myung and Dream Theater won a Grammy. Pretty huge milestone for prog fans everywhere.
I didn't watch it but I know Dream Theater won something so it is cool.
I thought it was a pretty sad example of what music is today.
