Great games with terrible endings!

I'll add Halo 2 to the list. Loved the game (Halo fan here :)) but a final boss fight for an FPS seemed kinda weak. I loved how the first one ended; hauling ass to get off of the spaceship thats about self-destruct and blow the first Halo facility to bits?

...

I'm going to disagree about the first Halo. Finishing the game by having to drive that ill-handling Warthog through the tunnel was a real letdown. I like the idea of escaping to end the game, I just wasn't a fan of the execution.

God of War 1 = awesome. Great story.

God of War 2 & 3 = bad stories but improved on the gameplay.

see i dont even think they improved on gameplay much if any.. the scope of 2 and 3 was amazing however

using the reigns on the giant horses in 2? epic.. loved it

and 3 had alot of "improvements" that appeared in Dante's Inferno first.. dante's inferno's demo was out while they still had a tight lid on GOW3.. find that kinda shady

lots of biblical references in 2 and 3 also

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
The last boss was really easy and lame

There are 2 endings to the game, did you see them both?

Fallout 1. When you return to the vault that you just saved every occupant of, the overseer either exiles you or shoots you in the head. WTH!

I just installed Fallout 1 to play it for the first time (played F2 about 10 times,F3 2 times and still playing NV),exited the game and started reading this thread.THANK YOU VERY MUCH!:spit:
