I find that everything is better when listened to through headphones. Except techno... which I don't listen to at all.

Although I prefer to listen to all my music on viynl these particular albums sound amazing on a pair of high quality headphones.

I like everything better through headphones, unless no one's home and I can really turn up the volume on my 501s. The sound is just so much more intimate and details really come out when you can turn up the volume.
I do think the earbuds suck!! I got an iPod for Christmas, and those buds just would not stay in my ears. I hooked up a good set of traditional headphones, and loved the sound. Everyone thought it was funny and took pictures of me.

Best headphone album period has to be Queensryche's Promised Land. If you haven't listened through headphones, you haven't listened to the album. I think they even did the launch with headphones.

The last track, "Adam's Psychedelic Breakfast", was recorded using binaural recording. They set up a dummy head with mics in the earholes. They then put it in a kitchen and recorded someone making breakfast. It was designed specifically for listening to with headphones, as you can quite literally hear the person walking round your head, cooking bacon etc.

I still love listening to Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and hearing how lush and wonderful everything is, and then thinking that it was done on four tracks with reductions....
311 - Grassroots.
P-Nut does some really cool bass stuff on that album, but the overall mix suuuuuucks. A lot of his bass parts get drown out by other things. I was listening to it at the gym a few months back and thought "Whoa! There's some wicked bass on this album and I never knew!"

Yes, and also one of the worst vinyl pressings ever.
Todd had a lot of poor sounding vinyl in that era.
I was hyped to hear it when it was released on cd... alas, they must not have used the original master because it was a faithful reproduction of the crappy sounding, overly compressed vinyl transfer.
