Great TL-5 on Ebay!

Yeah that thing is sweet. I own 2 TL-5's and a TL-6. this one was built in 91 or later. all of mine are pre 91 and still have the dynabass electronics. Have you played one of the new (after 1991) ones? I am curious how the tone is different between the two models. i can tell everyone if they ever have a chance to play on they will be amazed how fantastic they are. Buy it now price is a little out of line. Most of the ones i see sell in the $500.00 range, though in my humble opinion they are worth it at two or three times that. :bassist:

That one is sweet.

I just picked one up from the TB classifieds that TBr theschnitt had for sale.It has the same pickups and EQ setup as this one does.I just got back from practice tonight and the TL5 plays and sounds great. It isn't going to take the place of my Millennium 5 but it is easily in the same class. The only thing the other guys in my band didn't like about it was the dark finish covered up the beautiful wood underneath. The B string on mine is a little subdued compared with the other strings but is very usable.

Blues Bass, congrats on scoring that TL-5. I was seriously thinking about grabbing that and pulling the frets off, but decided I'd rather get one that was already fretless. That is a beautiful instrument, and I'll wager that once you have it set to your specs the sound on all the strings will kick booty.

I put a set of used DR Fatbeams on it so maybe that's it.I'll mess with the pickups too to see if I can balance it better. All the other strings balance fine, the E string has great depth.I can see why people who have these say the EQ is so great, the low end boost can be crazy low and the mid control really works well too.I kind of like it better than the EQ on my Millenium but with my Millenium I just leave it flat anyway.I'll try a set of new strings down the road to see if that cures the low output B.
