Great Warwick P Tone

I’m not a big Adam Clayton fan or U2 for that matter. Not a hater just sort of ho hum about them. Anyway I was checking out Jools Holland and saw this clip and Adam uses all kinds of basses but man this tone I thought immediately was a P but was tighter and punchier and cut a little more than I was used to hearing out of a P as I am sort of ho hum about P basses but IMO this bass sounds fantastic. Cuts and sits in the mix well. I’m not a moron I know there are many other factors but I thought it was noteworthy.

Sounds great! I believe he has a Seymour Duncan SPB-3 Quarter Pounder in his bass. Take a look:

I have owned about 10 Euro Spectors and I'm a lefty and I really only feel comfortable with a 5 string. I have had 3 4 stringers and yeh the reverse P does sound so much much better than the standard set up. I building a bass now with EMG MM in the bridge and a reverse P in the neck positions I hope I can cop some of that nastyness.

Loving that tone! I wonder what the same bass would sound like if you left the top pickup in the reverse position and put the lower pickup under it. Basically a p pickup in a lower position, almost MusicMan position.

Yep, sounds pretty damn great, you can make out every single note (although to be fair, there seems to be a lot of space for the bass in that song). It's a shame the Streamer CV doesn't come standard with a P pickup, I've always thought it sounded a bit "tame" as a result.
