Greatest Trio Ever!

I used to really dig live groove based music...be it prog, rock, reggae, or funk.

I've seen nero many tens of times and was glad to see them for a reunion weekend this past.

Here's the weekend of shows.

You may not think they're the 'best ever' but they sure are a lot of fun to go check out.

Jimi Hendrix Experience
Cream
I saw the Jimi Hendrix Experience 'live' twice and Cream once. I wouldn't have missed Jimi for the world, but for my money, Cream REALLY brought the goods. The Cream show that I saw was their very last show on their last tour in Providence, RI on Nov. 4, 1968....still have the ticket stub. Actually still have the ticket stubs to the Hendrix shows as well and they're autographed by Mitch Mitchell.
The night of the Cream show, Cream was late to arrive to the venue and there were doing two shows. My buddy and I had tickets to the second show and the seats we got were 4 rows from the stage dead-center. Due to starting late,
11:45, they actually violated the curfew for 'live' performances in Providence and all the played were the 4 tunes from the 'live' album from "Wheels Of Fire"....which is all I really wanted to see them play, anyway. And they played as good if not better than that 'live' album. They left after the show to go back to England and the band was to be no more. )-(

Bill Evans, Scotty Lafaro, and Paul Motian

Cream

Jimi Hendrix, Mitch Mitchell, Billy Cox (Noel never meshed well with Hendrix IMO)

Pat Metheny, Bob Moses, Jaco Pastorious

The Ginger Baker Trio (Ginger Baker, Bill Frisell, Charlie Haden)

Stephen Stills, or Steve Winwood, or Stevie Wonder- any of them all by themselves
