I read today where the remaining members of the GD have decided to uncover their burried treasures and exploit their wears - Bobby, Phil you might as well capitalize on your legacy while you're still alive.

Not a Dead fan - but what do the tru Dead Heads think of the move to capitalize!!!

I'm sure once these guys croak every music exec, agent, or record company who can make a buck will be opening the secret vaults and producing Bob Weir coloring books and a Phil Lesh bobble-head.

Anything to maximize profit. That's our culture & it's the American way.

They were actually terrible businessmen for most of their lives.

But innovative. It's hard to say how well they did, though because they did have SO many people to pay. At the end they were bringing in close to fifty mil a year, though.

People will buy Dead stuff; box sets go for hundreds of dollars. There might be a full tour's worth of music but still-hundreds of dollars.

Dude, these guys are all like 70 now... Im sure they are far more worried about retirement, the economy, medical bills, etc. than people who cant even spell the band name correctly accusing them of "selling out".
