I've been here before, actually. I was "Stewbone", and then "Sloom". I have a kind of fragmented life at times, and so have lost passwords, etc. The mind is still here, though, mostly. However that may add up to some kind of advantage, I can't tell! But hey, I like this place, and it is indeed a well of information.
Here's my current scene:
I play in a reggae band in Rhode Island called "Kumasi": A 4-piece, 3 white guys and a very musical front-man from Antigua with long dreadlocks. We have a gas time, and end up throwing all kinds of funky angles, segues, and pop-references into our old-school Dancehall/Dub jams.
I also play in a jazz/surf/rock/etc thing called the "Buddy Roach Trio". It's a 3-piece; and we've got a most excellent drummer- key in my book! The guitar player and I play in both these bands- we've been jamming for about 12 or 15 years now.

-Schecter Stiletto Elite-IV [modded with a strap-extension (home-made from a no-longer-useful shop wrench, and routed -in and fastened with some screws and epoxy) and a DiMarzio Model-1 pickup (this also entailed some routing, etc)].
-Fretless project bass.
-BBE 383 Bass preamp.
-Crest FA901 power amp.
-Peavey RBS-1 (2x15) cab.
-Ibanez Phat-Hed pedal (sometimes).
-MXR M-108 10-band EQ pedal.
I'm looking into trading my Ampeg 2x15 cab for an Avatar 2x10 to run with the Peavey. The 2x10'll be handy for the smaller gigs. I love the Ampeg, but it doesn't fit the format these days.
I'm a carpenter days, but looking to segue my gainful employment to music from nailbanging. I've been playing bass for 27 or so years, and have an idea that it's time to make this happen right. But when you have a family to feed, you get down and do what you got to do! There we are.
I'm also into a small (software-based) recording studio (who isn't), and working with a few people on independent projects, including my own rock band.
