Hello people. I hail from the Upper Midwest and have been playing bass for about 14 or 15 years. It all started when some friends of mine asked me to start playing for their "band" (really just a collection of dudes that had no idea what they were doing) so I bought a very cheap bass and started plucking away.
I started playing six string shortly after that. After bouncing around between a few different metal bands, I happened upon a customer at my job who, by chance, was a frontman in a (soon to be) 3 piece who needed a bassist. I don't even know how long it's been since I've started playing with these guys, but it's been quite a ride. Hundreds of shows and one album. And who doesn't love a revolving door of drummers (some of which like to dip out at the last minute)?
I guess I'm mostly here to network with other bassists because there are only about 2 around me who don't just play double/upright. So, hi folks.
Edit: Specialized forums like this are a dying breed and need to be kept around. I'll look into becoming a SM if all goes well.
