Gretsch Hollowbodies

That would be me. I'm actually playing my Gretsch White Falcon bass in my hotel room tonight. The Falcon is full scale, and has an ebony board. Tone is not unlike a Thunderbird, but with a natural mid scoop. It really doesn't cop the classic hollow, Hofner sound in my opinion. I believe the other models are 30" or 32", and with flats will do more of the classic hollow thing. But the Falcon has the mojo for days. I'm talking with Gretsch about a custom Falcon too.

Very cool guys, I appreciate it. I did a backpost searching on here and got a little info but not much on tone. As long as Gretsch has a different sonic vibe than Hofner and Guild I'll consider getting one.

I haven't decided which models interest me yet, 30-34'' hollow/solid with TV Jones. I need to find more of them to play around LA!

Branden, have you tried any other models? Can you divulge info on your custom Falcon specs?
