Gretsch White Falcon Bass

Most stores dont hold them, but youre definitely right on the expensive part.

IMO and IME you can get much more bass for that price. Or even two amazing basses for that price! Just not my thing when you a Epi JC is 800 and an Ibanez Artcore is 500-600.

it's not exactly the same bass, but look around for a used gretsch 6072 bass. the big differences between the two are the white falcon design elements (white, gold binding, etc.), the pickups, and better tuners. the falcon bass might have an ebony fretboard instead of rosewood, but i think that's about it. i go my 6072 used for under a grand

One of our T.B. brothers had one for sale about a year ago. I don't think it sold the first time around, but he did sell it several months after this first posting. Here's the original thread. Won't do you any good now, but could induce some serious salivation... ;)

oh what i would do for that bass

sell myself on the streets is definently up there on the list... man the stds would be worth it

ehh, i played one in the store equivalent to guitar center in vancouver
(cant for the life of me remember the name)
and it was, well, intresting. diddnt like it much at all, had total crap strings on it, sounded about like a 100 dollar stag acoustic bass.

when plugged in though, it was intresting. i can see how that tone would be desirable, but not for me.

definatly wouldnt have paid the 3400 they were asking for it though.

The G6072 came close enough for me.
