Grippy strings, a quick solution?

I've just performed live with my Höfner Club with flats. I got lots of slides wrong because they were unusually grippy. I was thinking of getting some Fast Fret but I won't be able to get it before next week, and I have a gig tomorrow. Is there any other way to make the strings a bit more slippery?

Wipe your fingers on the side of your nose. The natural oils help. I was sceptical, but it works.

The fast fret works better though...

Fast fret is just mineral oil on an applicator. You can apply it with a clean cloth and then wipe the excess off.

Won't hurt your fretboard.

+1 on nose oil. Read this in some article years back.

Everyone says the nose oil thing and it sounds weird but it's true. Chicken grease?

Anyway flats become less sticky after you break them in a bit!
