A. What's a "BB750"?
B. Typically a ground lift is to prevent ground loops. For example, on a direct box or the DI on an amplifier. The amp is on stage, and the mixer for FOH is a hundred feet away. They're most likely drawing power from different branches of the elecrical system. There could be a difference in the ground between those two locations, which will induce noise into the system. So, lifting the ground on the DI can eliminate or reduce that noise. So, I'd leave the ground connected unless lifting it makes the system less noisy.
